The obvious is that either she has or may be turning a new leaf despite the success she has garnered over the years via employing the occult.
She has been the subject of many occult topics and has been referred to by numerous unsavory names in which "witch" has been the most polite. Many have suggested that the new look is indicative of her being desirous to leave the lifestyle in which she has been considered, by them, a major contributor in the destruction of souls, morals and depiction of young women either being oversexed or rebellious in spirituality -- purportedly to their unawares.
Others feel that the singer is aware that her over saturation is causing her star quality to dwindle. Therefore, cutting her tresses was a ploy she needed to draw attention back to herself. Did it work? Apparently so considering that general media outlets are abuzz.

@anon 8:17 either that or the wind machine accident inspired her to start using short hair wigs as an option. I think that is a short hair wig and not her hair really cut.

I heard a lot about her being illuminati but I do not think that has anything to do with her being seen without one of her wigs. JS
Folks in organized religion usually read a lot into things.
